What does a San Diego that is affirming and lit for ALL Black people look like?
Black Dream Experiment is a world-building project in which "reality" is paused and Black folks have the opportunity to tap into indigenous ancestral, wellness, and liberation practices to manifest the free we wish to see in the world. This imagination activation is Blackity Black Black. For Us By Us.
No codes shall be switched or magic translated in this dancery.
Non-Black people are welcome in the space as guests under the communal agreement of reverence and care. The intention is not segregation - it is abundant embodiment. An exploration of sacred Black dreaming in a city that is actively hostile to the sovereignty of Black culture and traditions.
BDE is a fluid experiment that includes but is not limited to (because we reserve the right to allow spirit to move) community dialogue, art sharing, music making, collective daydreaming, community care exchange, and good old-fashioned cutting up.

Dream BIG and then double it. Be present to the ways in which trauma responses might encourage you to shut down ideas prematurely because it "would never work" in the real world. This ain't that. Everything we call realistic is the result of someone's imagination. You're invited to practice visioning all the ways it can go right and surprise yourself with the possibilities that show themself to you.
This space is for ALL Black people. Non Black people are welcome with the understanding that this curation unapologetically honors and keeps the gates tight on the sovereignty of Black culture and traditions. By being in the space you consent to respecting this space as you would hopefully engage with any other sacred cultural experience.
White failurisim and it's unlegendary children (transphobia, ableism, misogynoir etc...) aren't welcome in this dancery. We understand that systems of oppression are handed to us and none of us make it out alive without being touched by the idea of shame based hierarchy. In this space you are encouraged to witness when you feel inclined to judge other's experiences and return to a space of curiosity and grace.
In this space we are committed to transformation in service of the work as we dream into a liberation that holds all of us. Perfection is not the ask but a willingness to own our stuff and be responsive to feedback is!
