Join YBH for our Book Club meeting. We'll be dedicating our book club series to the action of Anti-Racism. Broken into 2 part meetings.

Join YBH founder, Nic Roc, for YBH's Book Club meeting. I'll be dedicating the book club series to the action of Anti-Racism. My hope is that over the next six months we can begin to educate, challenge, acknowledge our implicit biases, and dive into disucssion.

The time you put aside to educate and dismantle your prejudices and implicit biases is the necessary initial work to understanding how to become a better ally.

Our August book is, How to Be an Antiracist, by Ibram X. Kendi

Antiracism is a transformative concept that reorients and reenergizes the conversation about racism--and, even more fundamentally, points us toward liberating new ways of thinking about ourselves and each other. Racism intersects with class and culture and geography and even changes the way we see and value ourselves. In How to Be an Antiracist, Kendi takes readers through a widening circle of antiracist ideas--from the most basic concepts to visionary possibilities--that will help readers see all forms of racism clearly, understand their poisonous consequences, and work to oppose them in our systems and in ourselves.

Currently, there are many book stores who are selling out of a lot of titles geared towards racism. I suggest getting audio books and/or ebooks. Bookshop, has an audio and ebook option of the title to be read.

Most local libraries have free access to audio and or ebooks, if you have a membership.
