Medium Photo is proud to present an evening conversation with San Francisco-based artist Erica Deeman. Erica’s work explores the history of African American people, adding new narratives to this important cultural dialog. This event is FREE with a suggested donation of $10, and open to the public. All donations will support Medium Photo's mission to foster awareness and understanding of innovative photography.
Erica Deeman received a Bachelor of Arts, Public Relations, degree in 2000 from Leeds Beckett University, Leeds, UK and a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Photography, degree in 2014 from Academy of Art, San Francisco, CA. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is found in museum collections including Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, IL; Museum of Photographic Arts; New Orleans Museum of Art; Pérez Art Museum Miami; and Pier 24 in San Francisco. Her photographs have appeared in numerous print publications, including the August 2019 New York Times essay The 1619 Project examining the 400th anniversary of African slaves being brought to North America.
